Business And Trade Associations

I participate in the activities of many property inspector trade associations and business associations, the foremost of which are the InterNational Association of Certified Home Inspectors, and the International Code Council.

Following are brief descriptions of them:

InterNational Association of Certified Home Inspectors

                       

The InterNational Association of Certified Home Inspectors (InterNACHI) is one of the youngest national trade associations for home inspectors yet currently is also the largest with almost 10,000  members. InterNACHI is one of only two national trade associations that requires prospective members to pass a knowledge-based examination before sending in money to become a member. As with other national and state trade associations for home inspectors, InterNACHI requires that its members obtain continuing education each year in order to stay on top of new construction methods and problems with older construction methods.

International Code Council

The International Code Council, a membership association dedicated to building safety and fire prevention, develops the codes used to construct residential and commercial buildings, including homes and schools. Most U.S. cities, counties and states that adopt codes choose the International Codes developed by the International Code Council.
