Inspecting Cabinets, Drawers, Closets, and Countertops

Sink cabinets are a significant area where water problems occur, and where mold and mildew are likely to be found in Atlanta.

Storage typically prevents the inspection of all of the cabinets, drawers, closets, and shelves. Storage on the countertops typically prevent full visibility, and countertops are where a lot of minor damage occurs from dropped plates and glasses in the kitchen, hair dryers in the bathrooms, etc. Concealed damage is not within the scope of the Atlanta home inspection. If I can't see it because it’s not visible, I can’t possibly note it for you.

Furnishings and storage can prevent opening and closing closet doors, cabinet doors, and drawers, and shelf paper can prevent observation of any moisture or physical damage to shelves and drawers. If you have any concerns about cabinets, drawers, shelves, and countertops, make sure you check them out at your final walk-through.
